Figures

Cast-A-Way Toys Figure

This figure (more a doll, really) was released from Cast-A-Way Toys in 2009. A retro-styled figure based on the Mego Corporation dolls line that were popular in the 1970 's. The big draw of these figures was that the heads were interchangeable.

While Mego never released a Phantom figure, Cast-A-Way have rectified that here. It's a very nice figure too, complete with The Phantom's twin Colt .45s and some really nice packaging.

Defenders of the Earth Figures

Galoob Figures - 1980

NECA Figures - 2022

Fantasma Figure

This somewhat rare figure from Brazil I won at one of the LFMBEC auctions. He stands at roughly 6" tall and despite the basic design (no striped trunks or rings) is a rather nice figure. There is also a red variant which is incredibly rare.

Funko Pop Vinyl Figures

Released to celebrate The Phantom's 80th anniversary, Funko's Pop Vinyl line of collectables figures received four Phantom variants, classic Purple, Scandinavian Blue, Italian Red and a Grey variant that was exclusive to Australia.

PVC Figures

Statues

Busts

Bust Lamp

This is a 2010 recreation of the famous Monkeys of Melbourne Phantom Bust Lamp from the 1990s. It's the same in all respects as the original 90's lamp apart from that it uses LEDs rather than a traditional bulb. The Monkey of Melbourne release also had a rarer all-black variant which was not produced for the 2010 remake.

Candle Bust

As the name suggests, this is actually a wax candle. Released in 1995 by Supersize Candles I'm pretty sure it was an Australian release. If you burn the candle down (why would you?) you'll find a Skull Ring inside. These are fairly hard to come by now, especially in good condition, given the delicacy of wax in the heat of the Aussie summer. I'm hoping mine is still intact.

Glenn Ford Designed

Designed by Australian Phantom artist Glenn Ford and produced by Croftminster, this statue of The Phantom with the Skull Throne . However, keen eyed phans will note that the Phantom doesn't look very much like Glenn's usual depiction of him. I once spoke to Glenn about this and he said that Croftminster just couldn't seem to get it right, but as so much money had already been sunk into producing the statues they had to release it as-is. Still, it's not a terrible statue and the story behind it does make it interesting. There were two further statues released in the series, one of the Phantom sitting in the throne and another of the Skull Cave. They can se seen toward the top-right of the PhantomCollectors Facebook group.

Ikon Collectables

Ikon Collectables are an Australian company which has released several high-quality Phantom statues.

Norwegian Head Wobbler

This bobblehead was released only in Norway so I had to import it. It's a really nice sculpt and only 1000 of them were made. Mine had a bit of an accident when it was knocked off the shelf, breaking off Devil and The Phantom's arm. A bit of glue later, though, and you'd never know. Released circa 2005.

Toys

Ja-Ru Phantom 2040 Weapon Toys

The toys Galoob released are interesting because they hold not likeness to any of the weapons that actually appear in the show. It sort of seems like Galoob had some toys they wanted to release and thought tying the 2040 licence to them would help sales.

Hot Wheels Car

Released in 2013 as part of Hot Wheels' Pop Culture series. Mattel released several cars featuring King Features characters. The car which features The Phantom is a '65 Volkswagen Fastback, which in turn is based on the real Volkswagen Type 3.

Rainbow Toy Defenders of the Earth Items

In my collection I have the DotE Action Belt and Telephone Intercom Set released by Rainbow. The Action Belt has small disks which can be attached to it and then thrown, ninja star style, at objects or people. They have suction cups attach so that they will stick to various surfaces. Th Telephone Intercom Set is supposed to act just as the name suggests; allowing players to talk to each other from different rooms via the hand sets. Not as cool as wireless - it has a 30 foot cord between the two phones - but still kind of fun. I've not actually taken it out of the box to test, however.
